Didactic Concept

The aim of the project was to train students in the history of technology in the First World War, how to put the subject in a didactical context for school teaching, and finally, how to present the findings on a digital media platform.

The seminar part and the tutorial each consisted of two hours per week. While the work of the seminar concentrated on teaching the students fundamental knowledge about World War I, the tutorial concentrated on teaching fundamental didactical knowledge and auxiliary science competences. For example: paleography of handwritten documents, analysing* how World War I was presented in popular scientific journals and an introduction in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Students also dealt with didactics, how to plan a school course, different teaching and learning concepts, as well as with the school curriculum in Baden-Württemberg.
